The KOCO Mohair Jumper is knitted from a blend of 70% mohair and 30% silk, a fibre combination that holds warmth without weight and takes a soft, diffuse light. It is knitted by a single named artisan in one of our village hubs in rural Tamil Nadu, using bamboo and timber needles, with an individual tension swatch knitted before the garment itself.
What makes the jumper unusual is how it behaves after it is made. It packs down into a small ball, so it travels as easily in a suitcase as on a rail. And it never needs washing: mohair sheds dirt and odour naturally, and the garment refreshes itself with airing. No machines, no electricity, and no laundry cycle in the life of the piece.

Undyed
Raw mohair and silk, the fibre as it comes.
Oat
Warm, soft, close to the wool ground of the site.

Airing, not washing.
- Washing
- Not required. Mohair sheds dirt and odour; airing the garment refreshes it.
- Storage
- Packs into a small ball. Store loose, not on a tight hanger that stretches the shoulders.
- Shedding
- Some surface fibre may settle in the first wears. This is the nature of the fibre, not a fault.
- Repairs
- Hand-knitted garments can be reworked by the same hands. Ask us about repair rather than replacing.
- Provenance
- Each jumper carries a swing tag naming the artisan who knitted it, traceable to her village hub.

There is no minimum order quantity on the number of garments. Production scales from a single piece upwards, because every jumper is knitted by hand by one artisan, with no machine setup to amortise.
