How Australian designer Stavroula Adameitis brought pop-art vibrancy to hand-knitted yarn through KOCO's artisan hubs.
Frida Las Vegas, created by Australian artist and designer Stavroula Adameitis, is renowned for bold, nostalgic Australian pop-culture iconography. Translating bright graphic artwork into hand-knitted apparel required meticulous yarn dyeing and stitch placement.
Working together with KOCO Knitting, Frida Las Vegas developed bespoke colorways and intarsia techniques that turned graphic pop art into wearable hand-knitted statements.
"Collaborating with KOCO allowed us to create statement pieces that carry both visual joy and ethical integrity," says Stavroula. Every garment was crafted by an artisan who received fair wages and literacy training.
